The weekend of 9/11-9/12

Now that Erica has graced us with an entry it is now Allies rightful turn to write....

So I'm taking this Computing and Information Technology class at the wonderful Anne Arundel Community College...also known as Harvard on the Severn....but anywho an assignment was to create a blog and well I already had a blog so I got a 100 on that part and now we have an assignment to actually make an entry about what we did this weekend. So here it goes...

Well lets start with Friday since many people consider Friday a part of the weekend, and they try to use it as an excuse for their lack of work (but I wont go into that). Friday morning didnt start out the greatest, we got a call early morning that my grandmother had passed away in her sleep, just about a month short of her 99th birthday. She lived a pretty long and happy life, and I only hope that she partyin hard up with my gramps. (I also hope that I have her genes) Other than that Friday wasnt that exciting, just pretty much took it easy.

Saturday morning I went and got my hair dyed...not very exciting. My momma and I went and looked at lap tops since we shall be buying one soon before I go off to College Park in the spring....also not very exciting. Saturday night my friends Beanie and Lee and myself went to Towson to visit some of our friends. I'll just leave it at we had some fun...there will be no incriminating of anyone hahaha. I got to see my best friend Jordan which made my night because he's the besttt.

I dont know how many times I was asked on Sunday if I was ready for some football. Just to let everyone know I've been waiting since January for football season to begin again. Football season means the following: fall weather, lots of food (especially pizza and nachos), yelling/screaming at people and the television, lots of arguing in the house, my fantasy football team failing epicly, and having an excuse to sit on my couch from 1pm-10pm in sweats and a jersey. My New England boys kicked some butt against Princess B-O and Princess Cocky Britches..for those of you who dont know who I'm talking about it would be Terrel Owens and Chad Ochocinco (yes his last name is legally Ochocinco for the sole reason that he is a dumbass). Tom Brady, Wes Welker and the rest of the guys had an amazing start to what looks to be an awesome season for not just the Patriots but for pretty much every team in the NFL.

I bid you fairwell and I am deeply sorry for those in my class that chose to read my blog and found that my weekend was not that exciting....or your are an anti-football fan....or if you hate the Patriots.

Allie's out like a light :)

As a young child living on the South Coast of Massachusetts I would spend my weekends with my grandmother, or as I have always called her vavó, which is Portuguese for grandma. I loved weekends with her.  She used to make the most epic salads, you know the kind that you would never wanna know the calorie content of because it combined all your servings of grain, vegetable, dairy, meat and fat into one huge amazing salad!  She once made me a garage for my matchbox cars out of a cardboard box, we would watch Celtics games, go down to the big rock that was on the lake, and I would help her carry in the gallon milk jugs because I was strong like that.

My Grandmother instilled many great qualities in me such as forgiveness, selflessness, and of course never put anything you don't want people to remember in writing.

So going back to that Summer/Fall of 2008, two things happened that led to this eventual blog post: 1. Doodle on Yahoo chat was discovered and 2. Joe got a job working at a radio station where his job was to make sure the commercials were timed right to come on and off at the appropriate times during the NFL season.  So one evening Allie and I decided to give Joe a present, see below, and remember the words of wisdom my grandmother had given me when I was younger...

Umm...IDK why the flower is there, and I just realized the "football" player looks like he's on the Jets.  The fish I believe is llama girl's sidekick, and the smilie face is something I just like drawing.  Maybe for the sake of this photo, it's smiling because the "Jet's" player didn't make the touchdown...Yeah, I am going with that!
